a juicy timepiece?[useless gadgets]

Anna Gram's artsy Citrus Clock is the perfect useless gift for your desktop. A timepiece that's powered by lemons, it will keep you shopping for the citrus fruit of your choosing rather than batteries.

ZuneTV - another one across the boundary

why do i keep ranting about zune? well cause its way better than others out there (read ipod) and also because the way they're developing the zune device and the community, i foresee more and more people converting this way!

this time its the zuneTV, a website much like youtube, where people share their videos. the better thing about the site is that it automatically converts all the uploaded videos in the zune wmv format, and there are absolutely no hiccups in downloading the videos. just register for free, look for your favorite video, click on 'download' and away you go.......that simple!!

ofcourse, to keep the spirit going, its always better to upload some videos as well....

head over to ZuneTV and check it out!

ZuneGames: Ipod, get outta the way!

Microsoft's Peter Moore, chief Xbox-exec confirmed a plan to add video games to the Zune during the CES this jan. the moment is finally here and although an official upgrade is yet to be out by Microsoft (by july), Zune can now play games via the XNA studio. there are a lot of games and applications available out there (head over to zuneboards for more details).

i have successfully deployed more than a dozen games and they work absolutely fine! too bad i don't have the pics of the device on me right now but sure enough, the dudes at the zune headquarters have their hands full!

move over ipod!

zune crosses the 2 mil mark!

the microsoft zune has crossed 2 million sales mark, almost 1 year after they hit the 1 million mark last may.

zune's overall market share has grown from three to four percent, but that's most likely a steal from Creative (which sunk from four to two percent) than a steal from Apple or second-place SanDisk (with a billionty and 11 percent, respectively). the recently announced 2.5 update is expected to bring about a huge change in figures for the zune

go zune go........

park assist one step ahead

park assist, a technology still in development and in limited application is where the car parallel parks itself while you twiddle your thumbs behind the wheel, and when the Fasten Seat Belt sign is extinguished you can get out and go on about your business.

however, the folks at VW think that's not enough. the latest development from VW is called Park Assist Vision (PAV), and it will park the car for you in any kind of spot -- parallel or perpendicular -- and you don't even need to be in the car.

a PAV-equipped car is rigged with cameras and ultrasonic sensors, and when you find a spot you want, you select it on a touchscreen. You place the car in "P" and get out if you have that much faith in technology not to scratch your paint. Your remote control keyfob tells the car what to do from then on, and the car parks itself, shuts down and locks itself up, as any happy car should.

PAV is still in development, but it's a neat idea. It could especially come in handy when trying to slip into one of those ever-shrinking "compact" parking spaces, since it's so hard to get out of the car once you get in the space. Now if they could develop a feature that actually locates available parking spaces for you, we'd be in business.
